  • Controller test unit

I have been working on the IQ controller test unit and need input!

This is what I have displayed on LCD screen so far

1 key switch on / off
2 f/r switch forward or reverse
3 MCOR micro switch on or off
    4 MCOR throttle in %
5 Armature amps This displays the Arm amps the controller is outputting
6 field amps This displays the Field amps the controller is outputting
7 Volts You will no longer need a digital display this voltage reading is internal to the controller and measures what the controller is seeing and reads through all battery and controller wiring so yes it checks your cables for you.

8 Temp This is controller temp at heat sink

What else would be needed or handy to trouble shoot an IQ cart

    any and all input welcome

    "LG";

I believe "Dilbert" says it best!!!!

The only questions I would offer would be:

1.) Would your test unit plug into the "test port" on the F/R switch?

2.) Have you considered adding a display of the "main contactor" state?

3.) Consider using "large" display fonts. (us old farts have trouble reading the small print.)

Not at first it will plug direct into the controller. I removed my plug a year ago because it was rusted out and have no idea how to source it at this time. I could make an adapter at a later date

      Working on that now

Ok good idea! but cost vs large font, lets see how much it will cost extra!

Keith again thanks for the download you sent me it has proven invaluable.

so now i have sourced the test port plug on the dash/fr switch looking at getting a cable made, have a nice blue LCD screen with handheld box and a blue rubber boot to cover it.

I now have contactor information displayed along with open solenoid coil.
