  • Need for speed on 2002 IQ Club Car

I have read previous post that you can get 3 or more mph by changing from 6AWG cables to 4AWG. I am new to the Club Car thing but how many cables are there on the Club that need to be changed.

Hi you're going to have to swap the cables connecting the batteries and the cables to the motor.

And it will not give you any more speed. The limiting factor is the rated RPM of the motor. Stock motors will only turn so fast. That is a function of the pulses coming from the controller. Yes it is DC, but if you look at the input to the motor with an oscilloscope, you can see the spikes. A club car can be programed by a good club car dealer or they can send the controller to Club Car. Stage 4 on the 1266 controller adds 3 mph. If you really want speed, upgrade the controller, motor, and cables. $1000 to $1500
