  • Club Cart help

My club car I think is an 84 or 87 model.

Runs good, but does not want to shut off when Pedal is not pushed, Turn key off still runs, put in neutral still runs. After running without pedal being pushed for a few minutes it finally shuts off.

Start and run cart and the process starts again.

It sounds like your Club Car is enjoying an extended victory lap even after the race is over.

This issue might point toward a throttle linkage or microswitch. The fact that it takes a few minutes to shut off after running without the pedal being pushed suggests a delay in disengagement.

I'd recommend checking the throttle linkage first to ensure it's not sticking or causing the throttle to stay slightly engaged. Additionally, there might be a faulty microswitch in the pedal assembly that isn't signaling to cut off power properly. These culprits could be responsible for the delayed shutdown. Investigating those areas might just reveal the reason behind your cart's post run celebrations!
