  • EZGO Electric Cart - clunking noise when cornering

When making sharp turns at fairly high speed there is a loud 'clunking' sound. I removed the rear seat and black plastic motor cover to observe.

I found that the springs are sliding back and forth in the spring hangar brackets. The spring ends fit snug in all of the spring suspensions that I have worked on in the past.

Is this normal on EZGO electric carts?
Wondering if narrower springs were installed or if spacers are missing?

    Regards,
    JGC

Rubber bushings are gone. Should have one on each side of spring.

      Hi Andy,
Yup, ALL of the bushings are missing!
There is a trace of one bushing left but basically the bolts are flopping around in the springs and in the spring hanger on the frame.

QUESTION - where do I jack up the back end of the cart? I don't want to bend or twist the frame.

      Thanks,
      Jon

I use the rear end and put jack stands on each back corner where the frame comes down to the bottm of the cart.
