  • Headlight Cover Removal

    EZGO TXT PDS Freedom

    My headlights do not work.
I see tabs on the plastic light cover but am leery about breaking the cover,
is this the proper way to check the lamps (lens removal)?

You'll likely need to access them from the back of the headlights. We'll need some basic tools, like a screwdriver perhaps, depending on how the headlights are fastened. We'll use these tools to gently remove any screws or clips if there is a back cover on the headlights in place.

Now, with the back cover removed, we can reach in and carefully twist and remove the old bulbs. Think of it like changing a light bulb at home - you twist it gently 1/2-3/4 turn to remove it from its socket.

Once the old bulbs are out, we'll simply insert the new bulbs in the same way, making sure they're securely in place. It's essential to handle the new bulbs carefully and avoid touching the glass part with your fingers, as the oils from our skin can cause them to fail early.

Finally, we'll put the back cover back on, making sure it's properly secured, and we're all set! If you ever need to change them again, just remember this simple process of accessing them from the back.

Most models like your EZGO TXT PDS Freedom typically use a replacement bulb 881. While traditional halogen bulbs are commonly used, many golf cart owners opt for LED bulbs instead. LED bulbs offer several advantages over their halogen counterparts. They provide brighter illumination, which can greatly enhance visibility, especially during nighttime or low light conditions. Additionally, LED bulbs draw less power from your golf carts battery, ultimately helping to prolong battery life. Plus, they tend to have a longer lifespan, so you won't need to replace them as frequently.
