wiring mistake.

Hi, am new to this and I changed batteries and guess I didn't pay attention,
When batteries were reinstalled they went in backward to Pos wire was hooked to neg and visa versa. I smoked something. Solinoid just cliks and no go.
have voltage from neg term on battery to two posts on controller, nothing on the other. Took another four blade controller and wired 4th blade to f/r switch. still nothing. any suggestions? Thanks.

We need more info. What year cart? Is it a PDS,DCS, Fleet series cart?

it is a 1996 series cart. Ive thought it over and think I will junk it after i strip it. It is so beat up don't really want to spend a lot more on it. Thank you for answering my post. I will be back if have other troubles with carts...
