  • overflow gas problem

My 2006 Precedent with the 350 engine always dripping gas from the carb overflow tube and fumes up the garage. This is a brand new carb because I couldn't get the old one to stop dripping. I would have suspected the float to be a problem on the old carb but not the new one.
Can the fuel pump be part of the problem?

The needle and seat is leaking. Possible causes are some crude in the needle and seat from the gas tank. Pressure building in the gas tank from a plugged vent. Float sticking or saturated. Put a inline shut off valve in the fuel line. this will stop any seepage but fix not the cause. Install new fuel lines, clamps and fuel filter. Old fuel lines can crack and leak down the carb making it look like the overflow is leaking.
