G1 base carb adjustment

I recently purchased a cabin in Wisconsin and it came with a 81 yamaha G1. i want to go through the carb and was wondering if what the base mixture and idle setting were. should i start at 3 and a half turns out and go from there?

as a side note, i have been browsing this site and really enjoy the helpful members in here! thanks for your help ahead of time

Hello Eddie. The idle setting is to be set as the flap fully closed when the pedal is untouched, if the flap is open even just a little the golf cart will backfire.

The mixture screw is set at 1 1/2 turns out. Hope this helps
