Please help newbie '89 ezgo gas seems no spark

hello all at golf carts forum, i was given an '89 ezgo gas golf cart. It doesnt start, dont seem to be getting a spark. just got a new battery. please, any help is very much appreciated! thank you!

Spark, Gas, Compression. If its getting spark, and its a 2 cycle cart, get some gas oil mix and pour a few drops down the bore of the carburetor, if its 4 cycle starting fluid will due, if it runs you've got a carburetor/fuel problem.

first what type of motor we dealin with? 2 stroke or 4?
