81 ez go engine adjustment/belt adjustment

Greetings all, New to the cart scene. Have a 81 EZ GO that I bought and just got running. Drive belt is awful loose. Cart needs to be almost full throttle to move. Don't see any way to take the slack out of the belt by moving the engine. Am I missing something, or does this engine just not move to tighten the belt. Thanks for the imput

Your belt may be worn out or you need to lubricate the clutch slider.

New belt, it is probably too compressed. It is supposed to have slack in it, it gets squeezed in order to catch.
