Wiring Help

I'm new to golf carts and I just bought an older yamaha gas cart. It runs but spits and sputters back fires through the carb and out the exhaust and will not accel. The wiring is terrible. Someone has hacked up all the wires and it is a mess. I know its not the carb because I have gone through it and it does not matter if you add or take away fuel it still runs the same. I believe I have an ignition problem. I put inline a spark tester and I'm getting good spark but I dont know about the timing. I would like to just rewire the whole cart but I cannot find a diagram on it. I believe it is a G2 or G9 but im not sure. I cannot find any info on it anywhere to tell me the model. It also looks like it has an aftermarket igniter installed. I did find a digram on the forum for a G9 but it does not help since all the connectors have been cut out. I need a diagram the shows where each wire goes not just where it goes in a connector. I picture of a cart that wired correctly would be great.

try a ground wire from engine block to battery it worked for me
