  • 86 ez go 36 volt golf cart won't move

I have an 86 electric 36 volt ez go golf cart, i've charged the batteries, they all read over 6 volts but the golf cart won't move, if I jack up the back wheels and hit the gas pedal they spin like crazy, when I set it back on the ground, it acts like it wants to move but won't ...any ideas ???

Run a load test on them, when you set the cart back on the ground take a reading of each battery with your foot on the pedal. Let me know the readings.

It could be a variety of problems.
      1) Low batteries.
Put your voltmeter on the pack or in the charger port, it should be around 38v. Push the throttle, if the voltage drops to less than 33v you probably have a bad battery. Repeat this process for each battery to determine which one.
      2) Loose or corroded cables.
Tug on all the cables to make sure they are not broken internally then clean and tighten each connection.
      3) F-N-R switch not conducting.
Does this happen in reverse as well? Do you have a reverse beep warning?
