Hello to everyone, bought a used gas sun classic 1986. Was having a problem with not running when the lights were on. Now there is no power to the key or fuse box. any suggestions where to start ? battery is fully charge.

Now, let's break down the starting circuit components. Battery, battery cables, fuse(s), wire harness, key switch, stop switch (at the accelerator pedal), solenoid, and starter/generator. Remove the brake/accelerator access panel to access the stop switch, which has two wires (brown and red). Disconnect the brown wire and check for battery voltage; if absent, there may be issues with the battery, fuse, or wire harness. If battery voltage is present, reconnect the brown wire and check for voltage on the red wire when the accelerator pedal is pressed. Repeat this test to detect any intermittent issues with the stop switch.
If the stop switch tests fine, reconnect the red wire and move on to the solenoid. Place the voltmeter on the small red wire at the solenoid and press the accelerator pedal, you should have battery voltage. Check the voltage on the small black wire at the solenoid, there should be constant battery voltage. If not, there may be a bad ground wire. With both positive (red wire) and ground (black wire) present when the pedal is pressed, test the solenoid output by checking for battery voltage at the posts. If the solenoid clicks and voltage is present, it's likely functioning properly otherwise, it may need replacement. Finally, check the starter/generator for any issues.
