Hi all I Just joined the sire and need a little help.
I have a Yamaha G16 Gas cart with a problem.
When I push down on the accelerator the engine won't start all the time.
It makes a poling noise coming from the starter generator.
If I tap the accelerator a few time it usally engaes but its getting worse.
On advise I pulled apart the starter generator and checked the Brushes (OK) and cleaned everything up. Computator ect and re-assembled. Its better but still does have the problem. Have I diagnosed the problem correctly. ??? Please help
PS: The battery is new but I checked the voltage its OK at 12.98 Volts.
    Terminal connections are new.

Hello Squid. The starter just does a noise when you press down on the pedal? I would start by making sure it has enough belt tension. Then double check the connections going to and from the Starter Generator are clean and tight. Tug the wires, make sure they are all in tact...Feel them when pushing the pedal, feel if any wires are getting hot.
      Regards
