Hello, I recently acquired a 1978 AMF Harley Golf cart. I mess with scooters and some small motors, and know a little about this thing,but not enough and am looking for help.
1.) I need a diagram or a picture that shows how the governor plate and rod thing are hooked up. This one has a plate, but no spring, or ??
2.) Is the starter/generator supposed to be able to move? It has new starter, but guy before me only put in one bolt and did not tighten it down.
3.) After cleaning it all up, fresh gas, etc. it cranked right up - no prob. But only once in awhile does it 'go". It's like the clutch will not engage,or maybe the throttle/accelerator cable is wrong (it looks rigged). Should cable PUSH,or just slacken?
that'll get me rollin' at least. Any input MUCH appreciated!
I did get it going yesterday,drove it all around, bu tfew times it hauled butt, almost out of control. I have two young boys and want to make it safe for them...
