wont stop turning over!

My 65 Harley D wont stop turning over, in order to stop it I must disconnect the battery. What could be the problem?

you probably have a stuck solenoid.

Try tapping on the solenoid, sometimes this will unstick it. Otherwise look into purchasing a new solenoid.
