  • Sequence of operation 89 marathon 2cycle

I think I understand what happens but would someone walk me through it? When you push the accelerator and the starter starts the engine, what changes so that the starter is now a generator? Should the starter solenoid drop out after the engine is running? The wiring on my cart is completely screwed up. All the switches where bypassed and accessary power spliced in everywhere. In the process of rewiring now, just trying to get my head wrapped around SEQ of Operation.

No, the solenoid stays activated. After the starter/generator reaches a certain RPM (from the running engine), it begins to charge rather than suck power out of the battery just from the RPM of the engine.

Thanks Matti that was the only thing I wasn't sure of. I thought a potential difference might be involved but wasn't sure. New to this type of electrical stuff. I.E.starter generator DC . Thanks again. Bob
