  • clutch problem

i believe the cart i have is a 1984 EZ-GO with a two stroke engine. the cart runs fine but recently became really slow. the engine is screaming but the cart doesnt go nearly as fast as it use to. I believe the primary clutch is working fine but the secondary is questionable. it seems to be stuck on the low side of the clutch ramp? not sure how to check the secondary or how to remove it to see if anything internal is broken. any help or manuals would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

Hello Doug, the ramps probably are worn out. Or if anything the spring broke. Take it apart, change the ramps, clean it up and install it again.

No just a technique. Take off the bolt and use a heavy lead hammer to tap around the edges of the clutch while turning it and trying on all different spots. With constant hitting and spinning it will eventually work its way off.
