  • 89 ezgo reeks of raw gas when starting

My 89 EZGO golf cart is very difficult to start and reeks of raw gasoline. I have observed the motor while cranking it over and drops of gas seem to be spraying up from somewhere (a very small amount). I have felt all around and cannot find any parts that are wet with gas. Also, it takes almost a minute of cranking to get it to fire. Once it does it seems to run fine. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

The intake must be completely sealed up, all gaskets must be in place, the carburetor air fuel mixture screw should be set at 1.5 turns out, bad fuel, weak fuel pump, clogged carburetor, and if it is a 2 cycle the main crank seals could be going.
    Regards
