how do i set the thiming and points on a 1979 robin 2 stroke engine

Hello, set your points at .013 inches for new points, and .015 inches if you have used points.

hello, thanks, where do i set the plate where the points are mounted. the plate has three notches in it where do i line them up?

Once you loosen the 2 screws it will allow you to turn the timing ring, move and set it to the middle and it will run fine in both directions. Of course if you are looking to be exact you can set it with a timing light or run it until it runs smooth.
