Hello, I have a 91 36 volt ez-go. I've done some searching on here and see the pot should read 0-5k ohms. What leads do you test to read the resistance? I replaced it several years ago and think it's bad again, but I would like to test i with a multimeter. It's jerky and stops pulling after half throttle. Thanks in advance.

Also, the best place to get a pot? The ones I find online want 9 to 12 bucks for shipping.

I think potboxes are about $100 or so. Unless you can find one locally or someone who has free shipping you're kinda stuck.

Here's where you test your pot box:

Thanks Doug, Should the wires should be unplugged when the test is done? Or does it matter? I have mine off the buggy at the time. I found just the pots only online for around $42 including shipping, just have to remove them from the box and solder them back in, anyone ever heard of doing this?. Thanks again! Donald....

Yes it needs to be unplugged and yes you can solder in any 0-5k pot that will fit.
