Insurance?

I recently inhereted a lake house from a death in the family. The community is restricted to golf cart usage only, when in the park. I purchased a cart and now am being told that I need liability insurance coverage. I have found that my auto insurance requires a VIN number, the cart I bought is 20 years old...I have no idea on where to even look.

Has anyone else had to deal with insurance and golf carts?
