  • Yamaha rear spring install

I just purchased a G16 Yamaha with a lift kit but no sping upgrades. I should get new coils for the rear today but don't see how to get the old ones off the shocks. Are there special tools needed? Does anyone know a trick ?

Got it, cut the old ones once with a grinder and remove the retainers to slide them off. The new ones come with bolt-on spacers (they are shorter). Reuse the original retainers as per the directions. 30 minute job. Got mine from Buggies Unlimited.
