No Spark

I have a 1983 G1 Gas that does not have any spark at the plug. Any suggestions?

Hi Davislx, replace the spark plug with a fresh new NGK plug. I think the exact model is NGK BP6HS for your cart. Test the coil, if it checks out the problem is usually with the CDI Unit.

What would cause the CDI unit to fail?

Well some fail from a power surge, like wires crossing. Others fail due to old age or a defect. There is actually a pedal switch attached to the gas pedal, if you are having no spark at all that defective switch can also cause it.

I have .5 volts coming of the CDI to Spark plug. Where can I get a CDI ?
