ignitor

i have an old 1987 g2 yamaha and all the electrical has pretty much been hacked out, the ignitor i know for sure is junk and i dont know about anything else yet. i see the ignitors are really expensive more than this particular cart is worth , is there anything else you can use in place of the ignitor and get spark.

That is one common problem and a heck of a thing to find cheap. Unfortunately there is nothing that you can use or do to substitute it. Your best bet is to find one used, possible on eBay or at your local Yamaha dealer.
