Can you unhook the down hill speed sensor on a Yahama G22 Electric to keep it from holding back on a down hill run? If so, how?

The 2002 model cannot be upgraded with the Yamaha PTV speed code. However, there are alternative methods to enhance speed on the G22. If you're looking to disable the downhill speed sensor specifically, it's typically located within the cart's electronic control system and can not be done.

There are alternative solutions to consider. If you're looking to increase speed beyond the factory settings, installing a 'speed magnet' for your GE motor could be a viable option. Additionally, upgrading to an Alltrax controller can provide an instant speed boost, potentially reaching speeds of 23-24 mph. Using a controller larger than 400 amps with a stock motor can lead to complications though. Upgrading cables may also be necessary to handle the increased power demands. The stock solenoid in the Yamaha G22 Electric cart is relatively heavy duty compared to most stock solenoids. This will save you money when considering modifications or upgrades to the cart's electrical system. If you have any questions or need assistance feel free to reach out
