How can I find the year and model of an older Melex cart?

  • #2
How durable are the rear ends? I am thinking about stretching it to make a small parade fire truck.

Hello, if you plan on using it yearly or so for a few years, use a frame that you can get parts for. Because even the strongest will break, and its better not to spend an arm and a leg to get the parts.

As for the year, on the serial number tag what is the model number?

I have a melex 512E. it is a 94. i believe in 94 they all had dana rear ends. 92 was the some had dana's. my serial is 249278. so 3rd and 4th digit is date code. maybe it is a 97, not 67. I know mine is hard to read, and its made in poland, FYI. hope this helps. nick
