  • 2006 EZGO TXT Rear end grinding

I am having a grinding noise coming from the rear end of my 2006 EZGO TXT when i let off the gas pedal. Anyone have any ideas on this? I had a stock motor on it but now have a D&D motor and it is still making the noise.

You probably have a stripped axle/brake hub spline connection.
It is a pretty common problem for Ezgo carts especially if they have higher power motors, larger controllers etc.
Put the rear of the cart up on jack stands and touch the throttle, the wheels should turn. Step on the brake and do the same thing and your grinding noise should happen, if it does your spline is stripped.
You can take off the dust cap and probably see the axle spinning inside the drum.
If the drum has ever been off before and not torqued to 90-140 ft lbs that is the reason why it is happening again.

Is this common for a club car also? I'm having the same issue. How hard is this to fix the spline? Cmann, did you ever get yours fixed?
