  • 4 ga battery cables for 1986 EZGO

    Hi!
I've seen a lot of posts about having 4 ga battery cables. I have a 1986 EZGO Resistor cart (no upgrades) and was wondering if I should get these cables, also.
    Thanks for your help!

It depends on what you use your cart for and what mods you have.
6ga cables were the stock size and if your cart is still all stock, the 6ga cables are fine.

The condition of the cables is almost more important than the size. If your cables are still the originals that came with the cart, I would change them to new 6ga or even upgrade to 4ga as there's not a big cost.

Side note: 4ga cables will also help a little with uphill speeds when you're in the high speed mode.

Thanks Doug!! I just piddle around on the golf cart, but I think I'll do the 4ga because I do have a few small hills to climb every now and then.
      Great advice, thanks again!

4ga may get a little more expensive with a resistor cart as you should do every cable that carries power to the motor or at least at high speed, that includes the motor, contact board cables, the ones to the resistors and the F-N-R switch.
