Why would my forward/ reverse switch get really hot driving around my yard. I've replaced it once last year when for some reason caught on fire when i was charging ? I've checked all connections , which are good. I have new batteries ,also. thanks

Given the history of the switch catching fire during charging, it might suggest a potential issue with crossed or shorted wires within the circuit. Crossed or shorted wires can create excessive heat due to increased resistance and improper electrical flow.
Inspecting the wiring harness thoroughly, especially around the forward/reverse switch and nearby components, is essential. Look for any signs of melted insulation, damaged wires, or areas where wires might be pinched or crossed. Sometimes, even small abrasions in the wiring can cause short circuits and overheating.
