When I depress the accelorator and hear the cellonoids click at different points, is each click for a increased speed and/or shift?? How many speeds for an 84 club car? Thanks !!!

Each solenoid bypasses a resistor increasing the voltage to the motor until max voltage is applied. 4 steps. As you let off the resistors decrease voltage until it shuts off the voltage.
