On some electric golf carts made after 1995, running it at half throttle for long periods of time can put a lot of stress on the controller. This could make the controller go into thermal shutdown if the feature is on the golf cart, or lessen the life of the controller. You can check the stress level of your controller by feeling how hot it is after running half throttle for a period of time.
