G1 Faulty gas pedal switch?

When I hit the gas pedal, nothing happens most of the time. Key switch position (F or R) doesn't matter. If I hit the pedal enough times....she will start. So I do not suspect the key switch or the solenoids. Having a hard time finding an answer or the test procedure.. because I do not know the correct name for this switch. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
