  • 2003 TXTPDS Odometer

State Farm Insurance agent says they will cut my premium in half if I put an odometer on my cart. What is the cheapest and easiest method to do this?

  • #2
This could be a way for State Farm to ensure they're adjusting your premium based on actual usage. An odometer would give them an accurate idea of how much you're driving the cart, which is likely why they’re offering the discount. The simplest and cheapest method would be to use a basic bicycle odometer. These typically come with a magnet that you attach to one of the wheels and a pickup sensor that mounts to the frame. Every time the wheel turns, the sensor records the movement and calculates distance traveled. It’s a straightforward setup and should work well for a golf cart.
