  • Wheel grab

So I’m new here and this is my first post. I have a 2016 club car precedent. My rear left Alex is is grabbing pretty good. So my question is, is it the gear box that the axle goes into or the axle itself. Tomorrow I plan on taking the axle out and inspecting it. At first I thought it might be the brakes. I had the tire off and could rotate the axle and feel it grab. Is it going to be a big repair like the whole gear box or just swap out the axle and good to go.
    thanks Brent

Nothing unusual about that. Your cart has, what is called, an open axle. That means the side that has the most traction will not spin and the side on a slippery surface will spin. That is why us Jeepers hate them, we prefer lockers or LSD. On the other hand, if you jack up the cart and spin one side the other will spin opposite. That will tell you it is OK. Otherwise if there is noise when driving or when you spin the wheel you could have internal issues.
