  • What do you do for a living?

When your not working on your cart, what do you do to make a living?

I am in auto and truck recycling. I got into golf carts because we usually get in a few of them now and then, I like to take and fix them rather than scrap them. Here is an unfinished example http://www.golfcartsforum.com/genera...-marathon.html

I worked for Xerox for 25 years then the upper management got Golden parachutes and I was laid off. Too young and poor to retire so now I drive a short bus for the public schools. Much Happier now and spend more time with my wife and son.

My background includes electrical engineering, VP sales and marketing for an electronics manufacturing company and I also used to own an equipment service business.
I currently own an office cubicle/furniture business.
Golf carts are a hobby. I have had 3 of them, all electric.

Retired State Police/Water Patrol so, I had to work on engines or be stranded. I got into Real Estate in 1989 and still do some of it. I have always been a shade tree mechanic and enjoy my golf Cart. The community that I live in has several golf Carts for neighoborhood visits and even see several at church. I have used mine for just about everything. It will pull a deer from the woods as good as an expensive 4 wheeler.
Great forum here I am enjoying it .

Well for 30 years I work on Nuclear heads and fuel for Duke Energy. I have traveled all over the USA working nuclear plants for them.
Started @ McGuire nuclear right out of high school in Jan.1979 then transfered in 1982 to Oconee Nuclear, went to Catawba Nuclear for several outages as I did at Mcguire. I have been to Crystal River Fla. 4 times and ANO Arknsas 1. I also went out to Scaramento back in 1989 2 times and shut down the Sacho nuclear plant. We pulled the head off and put the fuel in the spent fuel pool for them.
Last 4 years I've been in general maintance here @ Oconee. Got out of the traveling stuff. Work 12hr shifts.

I do counter sales and tech support for a HVAC/R wholesale company. I spend most of the day answering phones and writing up orders. But, once in a while I get to put some brain power in and help the guys figure out some troubling issues. Golf carts are for fun, but here lately I wish I knew more about the sparkers. It seems my area needs a shop where someone can fix them and not have the customers leaving with the feeling of being ripped off

I'm the PGA Director of Golf at two daily fee golf course on the wet side of Washington State. It's still a thrill to watch a student hit a good shot. Although cart rentals are a large part of our income stream I wish more people would walk.

I was a heavy truck mechanic in the USAF for a few years. I got out early and joined the 440th Airlift Wing in Milwaukee as a structural specialist and attempted to work that for three years, after that, I transferred to the 128th Air Refueling Wing as a heavy truck mechanic. I stuck with that for fifteen years before I retired from the Air Guard in '06.

In the civilian side, I have 23 years in at HUSCO International. We manufacture hydraulic valves for heavy equipment. I've been the 2nd shift electrician since 1998. http://www.huscointl.com

I'm an Insurance Adjuster and have been for 33 years. I've worked for several companies over the years and I've worked storms in many states. I was on loan to another company for the Northridge, CA quake in '94. I was there for 3 months.
