Finished everything today, the biggest issue was the DMV. California Highway Patrol and local law enforcement were great, very, very helpful and willing to go the extra mile. DMV on the other hand, was not! But after extensive research, and armed with all the possible information I could find, I went to my DMV appointment today and got it all taken care of. I got my plates mounted and went on my first legal street drive. For anyone interested in going street use in California, make sure you go in very very informed. DMV was doing everything in their power to prevent this from happening, luckily every time they came up with an excuse I had the information handy to correct them. The DMV website is an awesome tool for helping DMV employees.
