  • Voltage Present on Battery Case

    Yamaha Golf Cart
    { 6 X 6 volt } Battery Configuration - US 2200 Deep Cycle Batteries

Upon going to Test and Charge the Batteries in this vehicle for the first time in a few few weeks . . .
I accidentally noticed that when I place one of the Voltage Meter ( Fluke ) Leads on the top of the Batteries Plastic Housings, Yes I said Plastic - I read Voltage on the Meter.

Why am reading Voltage On The Plastic Housing Of The Batteries ?

    Thanks for any help

If by housing, you mean the actual battery, that can happen when a conductive liquid such as water or electrolyte is on the surface of the battery and is in contact with the positive terminal. If you mean a type of cover over the battery, not so simple to figure out.
