1997 yahmaha electric golf cart will run for a while then shut off

twice my golf cart has ran about 2 thirds of the course and would shut off. it would try to go about 1 foot then stall and I would have no power no sound at all when I put it in reverse. after I pushed it home both times it would run great. is there anything I can check on this to see what it is. thanks

roll the floor mat back on the drivers side, lift the plate out. you'll see a switch at top of the gas pedal. at the plug for that switch it gets water in it, blow that out & put die-electric grease in it & plug it back together. problem solved.
