EZGO WON'T MOVE

My cart was idle for many months due to my having 4 brain surgeries over a period of a year and 6 months. Needless to say the cart needed attention. I hired a person to bring it to my new residence. When I put new batteries in and attempted to run I got nothing, in fact the rear wheels won't move in either direction. I get no "click" in the solenoid or any indications.
My question is: Where do I begin to troubleshoot this. I'm sure there is a logical starting point and a process of elimination.
ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!
