TXT Cables

I have a 99 model txt Freedom 36 volt. The cart is in stock condition with new Trojan batteries. The cart runs fine except for climbing hills where it will almost come to a crawl but pulls steady on up the hill. The cart has 6 gauge wires hooked up to the batteries. If you install say 1 or 2 gauge wires for the batteries will this give the cart more torque gained by using the larger wires or just wasting money? Thanks
