Ez go 36v txt arks when hooking batteries up

So I got a ezgo txt 36v the guy said he hooked up 3 car batteries up and it ran fine so I got it and bough 6 new trojan batteries and when to hook them up and it arked so I tryed a few different things and finally smoked the controller so I got that rebuilt and went to hook it all back up and same think it arked so I stopped right there looked up all the wires everything seems to be correct and I bypasses the reed switch by deleting it and running it straight to the pos can anyone give me some ideas to help plz
