  • 2000 club car low speed

I just bought a club car from a buddy and need some advice. I been riding in this cart for a few years and know most the history of it. It has always had good pep from the start then slows down and levels off at a very consistant low speed. The batteries were replaced 6 months ago but it still maintains the same speed problems. I noticed tonight that the cable from the batteries to the control box(for lack of the correct term) do not pass through while in the computer box. Could this be what is causing the cart to slow down after about running for 500 feet?

What your describing is a bad speed sensor. Could be the sensor itself or the magnet inside. Lots of YouTube and other online support videos and instructions for finding and replacing...good luck
