It varies from state to state. As long as you have the basics... lights, turn signals, windshield, wipers, mirrors, seatbelts and a horn you should qualify to register your cart as a golf cart or a custom vehicle.

    Do I need Insurance?
In most states insurance is required on golf carts. Even if it is not required, look into it. I know you will thank it after you crash into that expensive BMW.
